Terminal MT5 files
Expert Advisor (Terminal_MT5_EA.ex5), the installation video and PDF guides in English and Spanish.
Before you start
- Install Terminal MT5 from the Chrome Web Store.
- Install the MetaTrader 5 desktop app from metatrader5.com or from your broker, and log in to the account you want to trade.
- Trading a prop firm account? You can install it anyway. Just check whether your firm allows Expert Advisors before you send orders with it on that account.
1. Enable algorithmic trading in MetaTrader 5
- Open Tools > Options (Ctrl + O) and go to the Expert Advisors tab.
- Tick Allow algorithmic trading and Allow DLL import, then click OK.
- Make sure the Algo Trading button on the top toolbar is green. If it isn't, click it.
2. Install the Expert Advisor
- In MetaTrader 5, open File > Open Data Folder.
- Go to MQL5 > Experts and paste
Terminal_MT5_EA.ex5there. - Back in MetaTrader 5, right-click Expert Advisors in the Navigator panel and choose Refresh. Terminal_MT5_EA appears in the list.
3. Attach it to a chart
- Open any chart, for example EURUSD, and drag Terminal_MT5_EA onto it.
- In the window that opens, tick Allow algorithmic trading. In the Dependencies tab, tick Allow DLL import. Click OK.
- If Windows Firewall asks, click Allow access. The EA opens a local port on your computer so the extension can talk to MT5. Nothing is exposed to the internet.
4. Check the connection
The Experts tab at the bottom of MetaTrader 5 shows Terminal MT5 EA is running on http://127.0.0.1:5000. Open the Terminal MT5 side panel in Chrome: the connection turns green and your balance appears. You're ready to trade.
